Is there a link between data migration and customer migration?

Finally got round to putting my suite case away following the TMF in Nice and found a small piece of card that I had written some notes on during the seminar that Phil Dance (BT) outlined why he thought ETL was a ‘dead concept’.

I smiled when I re read another point that got raised which highlighted an obvious but often overlooked issue:

When customer data migrations make mistakes or fail, the business faces another migration issue – Customer migration!
